Scary Phone Scam from India with an Indian Voice?
My Grandma, Sister, and Me
Calls From Man Making Threats
About six months ago, I got a voice message on my cell phone from a man who claimed that he worked for some law firm. The man was hard to understand, it was like he had an accent. He claimed that I owed money to Sonic Cash Advance, but I have never borrowed money from Sonic Cash Advance, or any online payday company in my life. The man said that he was going to file papers and download them to the sheriff in the town where I live. I called the number that he called from, and he said he was going to take me to court, and have me arrested the following day at 11 a.m. At the end of the messages that he left, he would always say, " I wish you a good luck!"
I reported this to the police in the town where I live, and they thought that it was a scam. I thought it was a scam, too. My sister heard one of the messages that the man left, and thought it was crazy! There were voices talking in the background while the man was talking, so she thought that the man was calling from overseas. In the messages that the man left, he would say, "Face the legal consequences of this case!", " unfortunate situation", and "Wish you a good luck!' I wrote down some of the telephone numbers that he was calling from, so that I could check it out online.
Checking Online
I did some checking online using the numbers the man called from, and I found other people, who had this problem, too. I read that the man, and others with him, had sounded like they had a deep Indian accent. The man was hard to understand. He claimed that he was an attorney from a law firm. He threatened other people in the same way he did me. He claimed to the other people that they owed Sonic Cash Advance money, and they never had borrowed any money from the cash advance company, either. I also read that the man was probably using a magic jack to make it look like he was calling from the United States, for example: Texas, but he really must have been calling from India. I went to a website called Rip Off Reports, and mentioned this man calling and falsely claiming these things against me. If the man asked for money, I would make sure that I never send him any. The man sounded like he had a foreign accent and he could hardly be understood, then he would speak English clearly and he was easy to understand. It sounded like a scam. The man would bring up major charges, for example: check fraud, money laundering, etc., that were totally false.
Man Making Jail Threats
When I spoke to the man on the phone, I told him that I never borrowed money from Sonic Cash Advance. He would not listen. When he threatened that I would be arrested the following day at 11 a.m., I was really scared! I had to work the next day, 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., and I thought that the police were going to come where I worked, and arrest me. Fortunately, no police ever came to arrest me. Finally, I had my cell phone number changed, so that the man could not call anymore. There was a scam going around called Sonic Cash Advance Scam, and I think that it still is going around.
A few days ago, the man called again and left a voice message. He must have been able to find my new cell phone number. He said in the message that I was wanted on four counts, I think he said, bad checks, check fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. He was still hard to understand. I have no bad checks, check fraud, wire fraud, or money laundering. The man is a schemer, a lier, and a fraud. I wish there was something that could be done to stop him, and others like him from scamming people with false accusations. The schemers do try to get some people to send them money through threats that they owe money that they do not owe. I hope that the man does not call again, but he probably will. If anyone should ever get telephone calls like this, they should make sure that they never send money to the caller, who is making threats and false accusations, ever!

Video About Phone Scam
I received voice messages from a man who claimed that he was an attorney, and that he threatened me with jail and going to court. The video sounds just about the same as the messages that I got on my phone. This is the closest video that I could come to that was like the messages I received. The man has a deep Indian accent.
